We`ve arrived in Japan at the Yamanakako Bible School. Including myself and Christine there are six students, so a very cosy environment. We are right next to Mt. Fuji; however, the recent weather has not allowed us a view yet. We took a walk near the local lake and I got a picture of a Swan boat and a cool Japanese car.

Arrival in Japan
Tuesday, May 16th, 2006Leaving Shanghai
Saturday, April 29th, 2006After living in Shanghai for three years, we have decided to return to Canada. We won’t be returning directly though. We will go to Japan to attend a Bible school for seven weeks.
After that we fly to St. John’s where we will meet Admiral Floridale before driving to Edmonton, where we expect to arrive around the middle of July. That is a long time in transit, so if you are a thief and are thinking you would like to break into our home and steal all our stuff, please don’t. We live at 24 Sussex Drive in Ottawa.
What is Praise?
Tuesday, September 27th, 2005The sermon this past Sunday really made me think about praising God in a different way. The speaker said that our purpose in life is to glorify God, and one of the ways we do that is by praising Him. Then he said that it seems strange that God would create us for the purpose of prasing Him, as if God created us out of vanity. I’ve wondered about this myself.
But then he said that part of being able to truly enjoy something is prasing it. We do it all the time when we talk about a sport we really like or a person we love. Praising completes enjoyment. It’s just as much for our benefit and maybe more so. If I feel that praising God is a chore and seems awkward, then maybe what it really means is that I’m not enjoying being with Him.
I’m not sure if that is theologically correct, but that’s what I understood.
